Happy Thirsty Thursday!!! My favorite day of the week :)
I love sangria. Its my very favorite type of drink to make. I’ve decided to create a new sangria for every holiday! We are knocking them out one at a time; Apple Pie Sangria for Thanksgiving, Sugar Plum Sangria for Christmas, Champagne Sangria for New Years, and now Chocolate Covered Cherry Sangria for Valentines day. Every time i make a new one, I swear its my new favorite. :)
Last week’s Thirsty Thursday post was the Raspberry Chocolate Wine Smoothie. YUM. I mentioned there were two types of chocolate wine…some that were heavy on the wine with notes of chocolate, and some that were heavy on the chocolate with notes of wine. Last week I used the heavy on the chocolate kind. I wanted the milky/creamy aspect of the chocolate based wine. This week I used the kind of the left in the picture, red wine with hints of chocolate. DELISH. Suitable to drink on its own, and PERFECT for a sangria.
Whether your single this Valentine’s Day, or very much in love…you can’t go wrong with a good sangria. You can either toast to your awesome independence, or cheers to finding your soulmate. Everyone needs a little chocolate in their lives, no matter what their situation.
I found black cherry juice at the grocery store. and i think it changed my life. It is SO good. I’m not even a huge cherry fan, but I am hooked. The wine already has a hint of cherry, so it blends perfectly with the juice. Dessert in a wine glass!
I can’t wait to have our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. As Mrs. Hardin :). Every year we try out a new steak restaurant, splurge on an expensive meal and stare into each others eyes (jk about the last part). I look forward to it all year…my very favorite meal. This year, we plan on staying home, in our new house, hopefully with a new deck (due to be completed next week!!). I can’t wait for our first Vday living together, hangin’ with our two furry kids, actually cooking now that I’m not scared….it all sounds pretty perfect to me. I think some chocolate covered cherry sangria might just top off the perfect meal.
Its officially time to start the Valentine’s recipes. Brace yourselves!! Cheers :)
