Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray a 9x13-inch baking dish. Set aside.
In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder.

Rub each chicken breast with olive oil and seasoning to evenly coat.

Place the chicken on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the chicken with half of the BBQ sauce.

Bake for 20 minutes.
Flip the chicken over and brush with the remaining sauce.
Bake for another 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F. For crispy edges, broil the chicken for 1-2 additional minutes.

- Chicken Thighs: Prepare the chicken thighs as instructed above. Bake for 20 minutes at 425°F. Flip the chicken thighs over and brush with the remaining sauce. Bake for another 10 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F. Continue with the recipe as written.
