Add the beef, onion, and taco seasoning to a skillet set over medium heat.
1 pound ground beef, ½ onion, 3 tablespoons taco seasoning
Brown the ground beef.
Drain the grease from the skillet.
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Spread half of the tortilla chips out on a large baking sheet.

Spoon half of the ground beef over the chips.
Stir the refried beans, and spoon half of the can over the chips in dollops.

Sprinkle half of the cheese over the top.
3 cups freshly shredded cheddar cheese
Spread the remaining tortilla chips over top.
Top with the remaining ground beef, beans, and cheese.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Top with jalapeños, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, green onions, and cilantro.
