Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white yogurt chips 170 grams (or white chocolate chips)
  • Pink gel food coloring
  • 12 ounces mini pretzels 340 grams (1 bag), heart-shaped (such as Rold Gold Heartzels) or regular-shaped
  • ¼ cup pink and white sprinkles 48 grams

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • Place the yogurt chips in a heat-proof small bowl and melt on HIGH in the microwave at 10-second intervals, stirring every 10 seconds, until all are almost melted. Stir well and set aside until all are melted.
    1 cup white yogurt chips
  • Add one drop at a time of pink gel food coloring (no water in the food coloring) until you get the desired color.
    Pink gel food coloring
  • Hold a pretzel at the top of one side, and dip the pretzel into the melted yogurt at an angle. Shake off excess melted yogurt and place pretzel on parchment-covered tray. (If the yogurt begins to set, reheat in the microwave 5-10 seconds.)
    12 ounces mini pretzels
  • Sprinkle the pretzels with colored sprinkles while the melted yogurt is still soft and the sprinkles will attach.
¼ cup pink and white sprinkles
  • Set dipped pretzels aside until melted yogurt has set, approximately 30 minutes at room temperature (or 10 minutes in the refrigerator).

Notes

  • Change up the color by using any food coloring you like. Use green and red for Christmas! Match your favorite team's colors for game day!
  • This works with any pretzel shape. You can use stick pretzels, large pretzels, any kind you prefer.
  • If you don't have yogurt chips, white chocolate chips also work well. That turns them into chocolate-covered pretzels instead, but boy those are good too.
  • Use food coloring GEL instead of liquid. It will give you better color, and the liquid kind doesn't seem to work as well when mixed in with melted yogurt or chocolate.
  • Melt yogurt chips in the microwave in 10-second intervals, stirring between each.
  • If the yogurt cools too much while you're dipping the pretzels, just stick it back in the microwave for another 10 seconds.
  • Let dipped pretzels set for 30 minutes at room temperature, or about 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
Storage: Store pink yogurt covered pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
