Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond milk or any other type of milk
  • 6 Tablespoons peppermint hot chocolate mix my favorite brand is Fannie May. Starbucks and Williams Sonoma also have great blends. You could also use regular hot chocolate and add a teaspoon of peppermint extract.
  • 1/2 Cup RumChata
  • 3 ounces vodka
  • 1 cup Ice

Instructions

  • Rim several martini glasses with sugar, as described in the post.
  • Heat and stir the milk, hot chocolate mix, and RumChata in a sauce pan over medium high heat until chocolate is melted. Make sure it is mixed well.
  • Take off of heat and allow to cool for about 5 minutes.
  • In a cocktail shaker, add the chocolate mixture, vodka, and ice.
  • Shake well and pour into rimmed martini glasses.

Notes

  • Becky's Tips

  • Choose a good quality vodka - for a smoother sip.
  • RumChata is a mix of rum, cream, cinnamon and vanilla, reminiscent of horchata, a Latin-American drink. If you prefer, you can use Bailey's Irish Cream.
  • Shake the mix in a cocktail shaker with ice. Once the shaker feels cold, the drink is ready to pour.
  • Garnish with candy canes and colored sugar.
