Chai Tea Latte Milkshakes

Mix freshly-brewed chai with coffee ice cream and Irish cream to make a well-spiced chai latte milkshake.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk 227 grams
  • 4 chai tea bags 8 grams
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cups coffee ice cream 300 grams
  • A splash of Bailey's Irish Cream optional, adults only!

Instructions

  • Prepare tea by heating milk in a medium saucepan set over medium heat.
    1 cup milk
  • Add the tea bags and cinnamon stick and allow to simmer for about 5 minutes.
    4 chai tea bags, 1 cinnamon stick
  • Remove from heat and allow to steep for 5 more minutes before removing cinnamon and tea bags.
  • Allow to cool for 20 minutes.
  • Add the cooled tea and ice cream (and Bailey's if you're over 21) to a blender and pulse until well combined. If too thin, add more ice cream or ice to the mixture.
    2 cups coffee ice cream, A splash of Bailey's Irish Cream
  • Serve topped with whipped cream and ground nutmeg.

Notes

  • Don't boil the milk. It should just be at a very low simmer.
  • Let the milk cool before adding it to a blender. You can speed up this process by placing it in the fridge.
