- ¼ cup sliced strawberries about 2 large strawberries
- 4 large fresh mint leaves
- 2 ounces white rum

- Club soda enough to fill the glass
Place the strawberries, mint, rum, and sugar in a highball glass. Muddle until the strawberries have released their juices and the sugar has dissolved-- about 30 seconds.

Top with club soda and garnish with fresh mint and a sliced strawberry.
Club soda
Enjoy immediately.
- Although I always recommend using fresh strawberries, you can use frozen in a pinch.
- Do not use dried mint, though. The mint must be fresh!
- You can swap the mint for fresh basil or even rosemary if you're looking to get adventurous.
- You can replace the white rum with coconut rum for a fun tropical flavor, or use vodka, gin, or tequila!
- Feel free to use 1½ teaspoons of simple syrup in place of the sugar if you have it on hand.
- If you don’t have a muddler, use the back of a large wooden spoon.
- Don't over-muddle the mint, as it can become bitter and turn an ugly brown color.
- If you find your mojito is too sweet, add lime juice or a splash of Angostura bitters.
- Feel free to add a dark rum floater to your mojito for a deeper, sweeter taste.
