This simple mixture of butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cocoa powder can be combined and made ahead of time, then mixed with rum to make a tasty chocolate buttered rum drink.
½cupsalted butter113 grams, room temperature (1 stick)
2cupsdark brown sugar426 grams
1½teaspoonsground cinnamon5 grams
¾cupunsweetened cocoa powder63 grams
Instructions
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter, sugar, and cinnamon together.
½ cup salted butter, 2 cups dark brown sugar, 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
Slowly incorporate the cocoa and mix until relatively smooth. It should be the consistency of a sugar scrub. Transfer to an airtight container until ready to use.
