Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon cut into ½ inch pieces
  • 1 pound green cabbage with the white center remove and the remaining cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ¼ cup low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Cook the bacon in a deep pot over medium heat until crispy.
    1 pound bacon
  • Add the cabbage to the pot along with the chicken broth, salt and pepper.
    1 pound green cabbage, ¼ cup low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Stir to combine and allow the cabbage to cook down over low high heat for 6-8 minute or until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

This dish can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Cut the bacon and cabbage into similar sized pieces so that they mix together evenly and it's easy to eat.
  • Make this recipe in one large pan. The cabbage will take on the flavor of the bacon fat making it extra yummy.
  • This side dish is low carb and keto friendly.
