Author: Becky Hardin

Equipment

  • Kitchen Scale (optional)
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

  • 3 cups mini pretzels 120 grams (about 75 mini pretzels)
  • 8 ounces semisweet Baker’s chocolate 227 grams, coarsely chopped, milk, white or dark chocolate will all work

Optional Toppings

  • sprinkles
  • toasted coconut
  • mini chocolate caramels
  • crushed M&M's
  • melted white chocolate
  • graham cracker crumbs

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
  • In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate in the microwave on high. Start with 1 minute in the microwave, then remove the bowl and stir the chocolate well. If the chocolate still isn’t melted, continue heating and stirring in 30-second intervals until chocolate is completely melted.

  • Dip the pretzels, one at a time, into the melted chocolate. Use a fork to dip each pretzel into the chocolate and lightly tap the fork on side of the bowl to shake off the excess chocolate. You can also use a toothpick to remove any excess chocolate from the holes of the pretzels.
    3 cups mini pretzels
  • Place each dipped pretzel on the lined baking sheet and sprinkle with desired toppings. Repeat steps with remaining pretzels.

  • Once all pretzels are coated, place the baking sheet of pretzels into the refrigerator for about 15 minutes so chocolate hardens and sets.

Notes

  • Add your favorite sprinkles to these pretzels to give them a special touch. If you don’t have sprinkles, you can use chopped nuts, crushed candy bars, or mini chocolate chips.
  • You can also use a double boiler on the stovetop to melt the chocolate, but this will take longer.
  • Nutritional information does not include optional toppings.
