Servings: 2 drinks
For 2 Servings
- 8 oz. frozen strawberries (1 cup)
- 1 oz. Cointreau (2 tbsp)
- 1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice (2 tbsp) from about 1 lime
- 2 oz. Reposado Tequila (¼ cup)
- 1 oz. agave syrup or simple syrup (2 tbsp)
- ⅛ tsp kosher salt
- 8 oz. ice (1 cup)
For the Salt/Zest Rim
- 2 tbsp margarita salt
- 1 tsp lime zest from ½ lime
- 1 tbsp raw sugar optional
Rub the rim of the glasses with a lime slice and dip in the prepared salt blend; set aside.
1 tsp lime zest, 1 tbsp raw sugar, 2 tbsp margarita salt
Place all ingredients in a blender and mix on CHOP until desired consistency.
Pour into prepared glasses, garnish with fresh strawberries and a lime wedge.
- For a delicious, fizzy twist, add about ¼ cup sparkling fruit juice (sparkling cranberry juice is fabulous) or clear soda to each serving of the frozen margarita mixture and stir.
- Triple sec works if you don’t have Cointreau.
- Blanco tequila works too, but reposado tastes smoother.
- Variations: Try frozen raspberries, blueberries, peaches, or mango.
