Frozen Strawberry Margarita Recipe

Strawberries and tequila are a match made in heaven in this frozen strawberry margarita recipe!

Ingredients

For 2 Servings

  • 8 oz. frozen strawberries (1 cup)
  • 1 oz. Cointreau (2 tbsp)
  • 1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice (2 tbsp) from about 1 lime
  • 2 oz. Reposado Tequila (¼ cup)
  • 1 oz. agave syrup or simple syrup (2 tbsp)
  • tsp kosher salt
  • 8 oz. ice (1 cup)

For the Salt/Zest Rim

  • 2 tbsp margarita salt
  • 1 tsp lime zest from ½ lime
  • 1 tbsp raw sugar optional

Instructions

  • Rub the rim of the glasses with a lime slice and dip in the prepared salt blend; set aside.
    1 tsp lime zest, 1 tbsp raw sugar, 2 tbsp margarita salt
  • Place all ingredients in a blender and mix on CHOP until desired consistency.
  • Pour into prepared glasses, garnish with fresh strawberries and a lime wedge.

Notes

  • For a delicious, fizzy twist, add about ¼ cup sparkling fruit juice (sparkling cranberry juice is fabulous) or clear soda to each serving of the frozen margarita mixture and stir.
  • Triple sec works if you don’t have Cointreau.
  • Blanco tequila works too, but reposado tastes smoother.
  • Variations: Try frozen raspberries, blueberries, peaches, or mango.
