Easy Bacon Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich

Is there anything better than a good ol’ BLT Sandwich? I think not! It’s one of those sandwiches that is popular for a reason. It’s the perfect combination of ingredients, simple to prepare, and absolutely delicious!

When I make a BLT at home, I know it’s going to be the best it can be as I always use fresh, crisp lettuce, juicy red tomatoes, and freshly fried bacon. It all comes together with a little mayo between two slices of white sandwich bread to really hit home every single time! A classic BLT takes just under half an hour to make and never disappoints.

Becky’s Tips

* If you’re using a nice, thick bread, you shouldn’t need to toast your BLT, but you absolutely can if you want to. If you’re using a thinner or more delicate bread, you may want to toast it so that it doesn’t get soggy too quickly.

Variations

A classic BLT is a truly perfect sandwich. However, there are endless ways to customize:

How to Store

A BLT sandwich is best enjoyed immediately after it is made. I recommend packaging all of the components separately and assembling them just before eating. However, if that’s not an option, you may have good luck toasting the bread before assembling the sandwich.

If you plan to have leftovers, I recommend storing each component separately and assembling as you plan to eat them. However, fully-assembled BLT sandwiches will keep well for up to 2 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy cold or reheated in a 300°F toaster oven for 7-10 minutes.

Serving Suggestions

There are loads of ways I serve BLTs; for lunch, as a laid-back dinner, or I’ll make a huge bunch to serve at a game day party. On the side, I’ll serve with tortilla chips and some BLT guacamole for dipping.

If I’m making a meal out of the sandwiches, I’ll usually prepare a kale salad or this carrot raisin salad to balance things out.

Is there any other way to make a BLT though? Add avocado and it’s a BLAT etc… Just seems funny to me. Love your site and your baked taco recipe has been made by my family 4,315 times since we discovered it. :)

There are tons of ways to change up a BLT! More or less bacon; different types of bread, lettuce, tomatoes; different flavored mayos; etc. Like I said, this is just how we like to make a BLT! We’re so glad you’re enjoying the site! The baked tacos are a personal favorite of mine!!
