Sangria isn’t just for summer. I make this fall sangria recipe with honey bourbon, ginger, cloves, and cinnamon for a refreshing and cozy drink. I like to add Moscato wine as it is low alcohol and adds a hint of sweetness that complements the other flavors well. I like to serve this sangria for Thanksgiving, though it makes a nice light drink anytime.

“This sangria has such great flavor! I love the sweetness of the honey.” – Wilhelmina
The Perfect Fall Sangria
This light and refreshing fall sangria always makes an appearance at my Thanksgiving get-together. The fall-inspired flavors of ginger, cinnamon, and cloves pair well with the sweetness of the Moscato wine. And because Moscato is relatively low in alcohol, I can enjoy a few glasses without feeling it the next morning.
Tips for Beginners
- Don’t add ice to the sangria pitcher. This will dilute the drink when it melts. Add the ice directly into the glasses as you serve.
- Stir the sangria well before serving. Give the sangria a good stir right before pouring to evenly distribute the wine, bourbon, fruit, and warm spices. As it sits, the ingredients can naturally settle, so stirring ensures every glass gets the perfect balance of sweetness, spice, and fall flavor.
- Garnish your glasses. A simple garnish can make any drink feel special. I love adding fresh slices of apple, orange, or other seasonal fruit along with a cinnamon stick for a finishing touch that highlights the cozy fall flavors in the sangria.

Make Ahead
Sangria recipes are the perfect make-ahead cocktail, as you need to allow it time to let the flavors meld. Refrigerate the whole pitcher for at least 4 hours or up to 24. To keep it cold, you can keep it in the fridge between pours.

Serving Suggestions
When the holidays roll around and a pitcher of this sangria sits on my dining room table, I usually have a few bacon stuffed mushrooms on hand, as well as this sweet and savory baked brie, and cocktail meatballs for us to munch on as we drink. This recipe is ideal for feeding a crowd, as I can usually get about 10 servings.
