What’s in This Cheeseburger Bombs Recipe?

  • Bacon: Slice the raw bacon into ¼-inch thick strips before cooking.
  • Beef: I like 85%-lean ground beef.
  • Onion + Garlic: Enhance the savory flavor of the beef.
  • Ketchup: Adds a touch of acidity and sweetness to the filling. It also makes a great dipping sauce!
  • Worcestershire Sauce: Enhances the umami flavor of the beef.
  • Pickles: Add a fresh and briny flavor and a bit of crunch!
  • Biscuit Dough: Store-bought is the simplest choice, but you could also use homemade biscuit dough. I used Pillsbury Grands Southern Homestyle Butter Tastin’.
  • Cheese: I like cheddar, but feel free to use your favorite cheese!

Tips for Success

  • Make sure to drain off any excess fat from the beef to avoid greasy filling.
  • Don’t roll the dough too thin or the filling will burst through.
  • Brushing the tops of the biscuit dough with butter and sesame seeds before baking makes it look and taste like a classic sesame seed bun.

How to Store and Reheat

Store leftover cheeseburger bombs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes, or until warmed through.

Freeze cheeseburger bombs in an airtight container or Ziplock bag for up to 3 months. Let thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.

We love caramelized onions or raw red onions, fresh tomatoes, avocado, pineapple, coleslaw, or even Buffalo sauce! You can also swap out the ground beef for turkey or chicken for a healthier snack.
