Apple Cider Mimosas are an easy and fun twist on a classic brunch favorite and the perfect way to celebrate fall. The sweet and crisp apple cider pairs well with bubbly champagne, creating a fall cocktail ideal for breakfast, brunch, Thanksgiving, or any time during apple season. I love a good mimosa, and this cozy variation is my favorite way to toast this time of the year.

5-Star Review

“This Apple Cider Mimosa is absolutely the best drink for summer! I found your post from Pinterest! Thanks for sharing, Becky!” -Julia

Apple Cider Mimosas

This is my favorite fall cocktail to make with apple cider as it’s perfect for fall festivities, breakfast, brunch, or even Thanksgiving. And since you only need 2 ingredients, it couldn’t be easier. Grab your favorite apple cider from the grocery store or apple orchard, or if you’re up for the task, make apple cider in the Instant Pot.

For a sweet twist on this seasonal favorite, add homemade caramel sauce, brown sugar, or a pinch of cinnamon. And don’t forget to garnish the rims of the glasses as they add a twist of fun and a hint of glamour to your drink.

Instructions

  • Dip the top of each champagne glass into water, then dip in the sprinkles to coat the rim.
gold and silver sprinkles for rim of glass
  • Fill each champagne glass 1/2 to 3/4 full with apple cider (depending on how strong you want your mimosas to be).
    1 cup apple cider
  • Top each glass with champagne.
    1/2 cup Champagne
  • Add an apple slice (optional) for garnish, serve, and enjoy.
    2 apple slices

Becky’s Tips

  • Garnish the rim with caramel, sprinkles, cinnamon sugar, or anything you love.
  • Use sparkling white grape juice instead of champagne for an alcohol-free mimosa.
  • I highly recommend using apple cider over apple juice, as cider is unfiltered and unpasteurized, giving it a richer, more authentic fall flavor. Apple juice is heat-treated and milder and still usable in a pinch, but not quite the same.

How to Make Apple Cider Mimosas Step by Step

Dipping a champagne flute rim into sprinkles.

Coat the rims of the glasses: Dip the top of each champagne glass into water, then dip in the sprinkles to coat the rim.

Pouring apple cider into a champagne glass.

Add the apple cider: Fill each champagne glass 1/2 to 3/4 full with apple cider, depending on how strong you want your mimosas to be.

Pouring champagne into a champagne flute filled with apple cider.

Garnish and serve: Add an apple slice (optional) for garnish, serve and enjoy.

Three apple cider cocktails in champagne flutes lined up on a tabletop with a plate of sprinkles and an apple in the background.

How to Store

I do not recommend making this apple cider cocktail ahead of time or storing extras because the champagne will go flat. However, you can certainly store extra cider in the fridge, and keep your bubbly stored properly. It’s only 2 ingredients, so it’s quick to make in a moment’s notice!

Serving Suggestions

This apple cider mimosa goes well with fall-inspired brunch recipes, like Apple Cinnamon Bread, these family-favorite Pumpkin Pancakes, hearty Apple and Ham Frittatas, or even Baked Apple Oatmeal.

Yes, you can brush the apple slices with lemon juice to keep them from browning!

I’m going to be serving these for a large crowd and am going to have everything set out at a drink making station. Do you recommend straining the apple cider before I put it in a big pitcher do you recommend straining the cider so the sediment doesn’t sink to the bottom?

We don’t recommend straining. The sediment carries a lot of the flavor. We recommend stirring the cider just before serving!
